A Great Day!
Yes!!! Finally, after 10 months of waiting, i was finally able to start work at my first job in america today. I did get paid for my orientation yesterday but that doesn't really count! I'm really happy! I had a really good day today. Work was fun, a really good workout and i got to know a few people at work too! Most of all i am really excited about all the benefits i'll be getting , my favourite benefit is, !ta-da! A 10% OFF DISCOUNT!!! And that includes things that are already on sale and on clearance wahahaha, isn't that awesome! (NO, theres nothing wrong with your eyes girls) YES it's EVERYTHING!!!! laa la la la la YAY SHOPPING SHOPPING SHOPPING!
Anyways after work i was able to rest for a few hours before Derek came home about 4:20pm & brought me to goodwill 'cause i wanted to get a few cheap pants and tees to wear for work 'cause they get dirty easily when i work. After getting some work clothes we went to the asian grocery store to buy some stuff and also 'cause i wanted to bring instant noodle bowls for lunch at work. Yay! So we got a bunch of yummilicious asian snacks, food and groceries and were at the cashier preparing to pay, then guess what was the best thing that happened? I picked up a conversation with the chinese cashier and asked if she played mahjong and she did! She said she and her friends are always looking for extra mahjong kaki too!!! How lucky of me wahahaha! We chatted a little, made friends, exchanged numbers and now i can't wait to play mahjong. Her name is fang xing and she seemed really nice. I'm actually really happy to have met her, even if not for mahjong.
Ok, next we went and grabbed some taco bell before our final conquest :-P which is to take advantage of my 10% employee discount at TARGET to get a bunch of things we needed. Derek got himself a work shirt, a couple of t-shirts and some american snacks for me, groceries and household supplies. I got some lingerie , t-shirts for work 'cause i couldn't find a matching size at goodwill, a pair of sport shoes for work 'cause my current pair i wore today hurt my feet like mad. All in all shopping went great 'cause derek was a better sport than usual today; he plays a big part in how i can enjoy my shopping, alot of the times we are playing hide and seek in the stores WHICH IS NOT FUN AT ALL, infact it is EXtremely unenjoyable (kills all the joy i'm supposed to get out of shopping)!!!
To sum it up, today was a great day!
Usually we would eat out to celebrate on an occasion like this(me getting a job) but we were both too tired yesterday and derek had something unfortunate happen to him. Today we also decided not to eat out because I had to wake up really early to go to work the next day and we still had so much shopping to do. Plus, I think its better if we celebrate on my payday since that would be my first paycheck in America and we'll have more money to celebrate with!
I'm going to bed now, work starts at 4am. Yes, you heard me right! My work starts at 4am and continues 'til about 12 noon. HaHa, Bye!

I'm glad to hear that you are widening your social circle! Now you don't have to be trapped at home all the time now!
Maybe this way, you and derek will have less things to quarrel about! :D

Yes! No quarrels? I wish... wahahaha, more like FAT hope. I did not lose weight!!! Instead i put on weight hehe but lost a few pounds after work started! Which is awesome. Audrey, coming from you being happy for me, it really means something to me. Thank you for your support all this while.
